Valentines Day Poll: Dine in or eat out?

I would like the ladies opinion on this one:

The money I have to spend on Valentines Day this year is limited due to school. Ive only got about $100-$125 for gifts, chocolates, flowers and dinner. I'm a very good cook for a guy. I cook for my girlfriend about once a month yet she has never had my "world famous" lasagna. From what people say my lasagna is "the best ever".

My question is:

Do I cook my best meal for my lady and use the money that I would have spent on dinner for a better gift?

Or do I take her out for a medium priced dinner and have less to spend on gifts?

Valentines Day Poll: Dine in or eat out?
dine in
Reply:Nah. Cook her a homemade dinner. Everybody takes their significant other out to eat, I know I chose to eat home, but my circumstances are different. I have very limited food choices to eat due to food allergies. Your lasagna sounds great. I'm sure she'll appreciate a home cooked meal. Then you will have money left over for other things.
Reply:Well if you ask me, i would definitely stay in and cook her a great meal!!! She will appreciate the effort because you cooked the meal just for her. You had her on you mind before you cooked the meal!!! I am sure she will enjoy it more than some fancy restaurant. You know the saying, nothing says I love you the best if it is from the heart!!! I hope that helped!!! Good luck!!!
Reply:I'm not a lady, but please let me save you from Valentines Day disaster. The two biggest mistakes you can make are

1. Going to a restaurant. V-day is the busiest night of the year. Staff is always harried, and service is always lousy and impersonal -- the opposite of romantic.

2. Cooking a "fancy" dinner at home. You spend all night in the kitchen slicing, dicing and stirring while your date watches TV in the living room.

Solution: cook a simple meal and serve it with lots of atmosphere -- candles, flowers and music -- all of which you're prepare beforehand. If she eats meat, grill a couple of steaks, bake a couple of potatoes and toss a salad. Serve it with a nice red wine. If she's a vegetarian -- well, you figure that one out -- but make it simple so you can spend time together.
Reply:A "HOME COOKED" meal is the best meal you can give to your lady. You will also be the MOST sexy to her preparing and serving the meal for her!
Reply:obvious answer: cook for her

its more personal

in itself it can be like a gift and you'll be sure that she'll enjoy it

and by doing it at home you can choose the settings instead of going with the cliche bullshit most medium priced restaurants will have

and youll get to be alone together
