Would it be ok to buy my dentist some flowers or chocs to say thankyou?

she has helped me through a major phobia of dentists and spent alot of time with me to get me through alot of dental work. I know it is there job but I am a NHS patient so she wouldn t make much money for the time she spent with me and i just feel she went the extra mile with me.





I am not sure if she would be allowed to accept a gift

Would it be ok to buy my dentist some flowers or chocs to say thankyou?
Say thank you very much, and maybe give a LITTLE present, NOTHING BIG!

Reply:Flowers and a nice "Thank You" card just saying more or less what you've said here!
Reply:buy the flowers they are more diverse..chocolates are more personal and unless that is ur aim she may think that it is a bit more than a thank-you gift

Reply:She would love that! We really appriciate it when a pleased patient brings something to our office to show their thanks. Especially when it is something yummy to eat! LOL





One thing that you can do that she would love, would be to write a really nice letter telling about your wonderful experience with her office. She can then hang it on her wall for other patients to see. This is what we do in our office. We call it our wall of fame.

Reply:Yes, any gift would be appreciated, I know people think they get paid a fortune, but who doesn't like presents.
Reply:Often professionals are not allowed to accept gifts (for example in my company, we have to put anything we receive in a 'gift' pool and it gets re-distributed or given to charity - whatever it is).





I think sending her a nice card or a letter of thanks would be as nice as flowers. It also limits the possibility of a mixed message!
Reply:A card and a note of thanks in appreciation is all she needs - gifts are a bit dodgy....people in the public sector have to be so carefull what they accept (unless they're politicians of course) !!

Reply:any nice gesture is always welcome, and is appreciated, in todays world everybody is always moaning and complaining and they forget to give praise when it is due, so do what you think is right, even just a card is welcome.

Reply:A thank you card would probably be better as she could keep it on her desk or pin it to a wall to realise she's appreciated. Flowers might be seen as a romantic gesture.
Reply:I'm sure that anybody would be pleased to know that they're appreciated. Don't NHS dentists usually work in their own practice? If she's hospital based there may be some policy saying they're not allowed to receive gifts. Maybe a card wouls suffice.
