Do women develope an antidote when a husband/boyfriend showers them with flowers and gifts?


It seems the more flowers and gifts I give my wife, the less and less gratitude there seems to be.

Your every womens dream man! Wow, she is so lucky and doesn't even show it. That's sad. I'm sorry, she should thank her lucky stars she has you!
Reply:depends on why you're always giving her gifts and flowers. if you always fukkin' up and you give her these gifts as a way to say sorry, that plays out really quick. however, if you're just trying to do those "little things" you used to do for her before you got married and there's the lack of enthusiasm, then there may be a problem that needs to be addressed. slow down on the gift giving and give her what should really mean the most to her; some quality time spent together.
Reply:Flowers and gifts are only one part of the giving in marriage and partnership. No woman wants the material gifts to be a substitute for communication and shared time.

Reply:Don't over due it getting flowers and gifts should be an occasional thing, she probably isn't surprised anymore because you do it too often, but it's a catch 22..now that you have started when you stop she's going to think something is wrong...good luck.

Reply:well don't be so nice because the more nice the more they take advantage of you so day by day don't show her to much love and then she is going to miss all does nice things you use to do to here and then she's going to change and start to thank you for them and realizing she haves a nice man!
Reply:flowers get old after a while. I'm a woman who loves creativity and effort. Give her something she can remember like tickets to a really awesome show (not ballet necessarily) or a professionally framed picture of the two of you. You could even find a diploma that she hasn't framed yet and surprise her with that. You could rent a limo and take her out on the town for a few hours. You could get her a membership somewhere you think she will enjoy no not the gym. or every once in a while just ost little post it notes in her purse, car or briefcase to let her know you are always thinking of her. Take her to another state a few hours away and just spontaneously have dinner.

Reply:Stop giving and see how quickly she perks up. Try something differant... my EX husband gave me the same thing every single yearin my xmas stocking ---box of poptarts, a blank VHS tape, a 4 pc box of godiva chocolate, and a %4 gift cewrtificate to Book store...gee all things i loved...but every single year for 19 years...big deal..use your imagination and get her something original!!
Reply:we like to be surprised so mix it up a little. If you like giving flowers because we love getting them, then leave one on her car windshield with a note, or send some to her work, or something out of the ordinary. Trust me she's not taking you for granted by not showing she's thankful, she may just not be surprised and giving you the reaction you want. Surprise her....

Reply:That's because it's probably not spontaneous showering. It's either because of something you did, or so that you can do something you want to do and not feel guilty about it later. Either that, or you've overkilled. Could be any of those options.
