Besides the usual bottle of wine or flowers.......?

What would make a good hostess gift if you are invited somewhere for dinner?

Besides the usual bottle of wine or flowers.......?
A pound of yummy coffee if it is more formal or someone you don't know too well.

If I know the person I make them little fun baskets.

I just made one for my friend who quit her job and had a little going away party. It was a pail and bucket with a plastic margarita glass, mix, sunscreen, all her fav mags, sunglasses and the Classifieds! She got a kick out of it.
Reply:A nice cake from a bakery not the supermarket!
Reply:Calendar
Reply:I have found that music, suitable for the party %26amp; occasion, is often appreciated. It does not have to be a store-bought CD. You can rip your own CD(s) and take them to the host, placing them in a nice little gift back with a note thanking them for the invitation.
Reply:Really nice hand made or french milled soaps
Reply:I once received a wicker basket, tied with a bow, filled with fresh produce and home made jelly. I loved it.
Reply:anything chocolate.
Reply:Decorated Rooms.

Balloons.
Reply:Chocolate babka
Reply:Bacon wrapped, brown sugar sprinkled, lil smokies! Cook at 380 for 20 minutes. Place on a nice serving tray. No one mention cholesterol!
Reply:fresh seaonal fruits
