Valentines Day Date?

So I'm going on a date for valentines day with this girl. I am doing the whole dinner thing and then going out for an entertainment show. My question is should I get her some flowers or some kind of valentines gift? Some info you need before you post your answer:

-This will be our first date although we've been talking alot.

- I didnt plan it to be on valentines but it is because that was the only day available for the show.

- I'm not looking to get serious with this girl. More or less just date.

- I dont think she knows we are going, not because its valentines day but because this was the only day for the show and I thought it would be a good date. Telling her might make her think I'm a jerk as well...

I feel like I need to get her a gift or flowers just because its on valentines day but if it where any other day I wouldnt get her flowers, etc. What are your thoughts, guys/girls? All thoughts welcome!

Valentines Day Date?
Dinner, flowers AND a show? All on the first date? And you don't wanna get serious? Your actions aren't matching your intentions. You might wind up seriously confusing her later if she thinks you're really into her and then you don't do anything this elaborate again.

You might want to trade the flowers for something less serious, like a small Valentine's card, or nothing at all if it's kind of a fancy dinner or expensive show. Also if she'll have to hang on to the flowers for the rest of the night, that might suck.
Reply:Trying to think as a Gentleman here ( the Army tries to make all of their officers into them ). Not as a guy on a Valentines date.

1. Dinner and a show. Flowers yes preferably a corsage but any arrangement if you can't get one in time.

2. If you are picking her up at her home or work chocolates are a good idea as well. If at work a larger box as her etiquette will require her to share them. If she is meeting you Flowers only. Reason is otherwise she has to much to carry.

3. No gifts of jewellery on the first date.

Reply:I agree with Shawn S... Thats alot to do on a first date and its valentines day...you might end up confusing her, and you might end up leading her on...and her feelings might get hurt.
Reply:well if both of you have a sense of humor you should get a box of valentines( the ones you had in Kindergarden) find one thats not going to cross emotions and get a flower like a daisy, that shows your thoughtful but not extremely commited and then add a hershey kiss to the card. It'll just break the ice, or if no sense of humor she may think it stupid...

I personally would love a guy who doesnt go to the extreme of having to impress me. Just be fun and different...

Be your self!!!!!!
Reply:I think that it's a good idea to probably get her some flowers, because it's a nice gesture and ofcourse because it's Valentine's day. Though just because you happen to being out on V-Day, doesnt mean you should feel obliged to get her anything. Personally, if I were in her position, I'd find flowers nice.

Good luck on the date!
Reply:because it is valentines day, just get her a single red rose.it is sweet and small.
Reply:Don't get her anything extravagant, but maybe a simple rose or carnation would be sweet, or a small box of chocolates. If you don't want to get serious with her, it might be best to just give her something small, like a Hershey kiss or a small box of conversation hearts. It's cute, thoughtful and polite, but probably won't make her as excited as a flower.

Whatever you feel is appropriate.
Reply:I would get her a single long stem rose. That's all.
Reply:One rose and a box of chocolates
Reply:get her some chocolates
Reply:i think you should just get her a couple of flowers. that sounds sweet for a first date=]

good luck!
Reply:you should get her flowers, or candy ect. anyways. girls love that. if you are not that into her dont take her.. if you dont know yet.. get the candy
