What is the difference betting "i love you " and "in love" ????? please help?

hi there, i love my ex to bits and i want to get back with her. The other nite i made her feel special and had a good chat to her. And she told me for the first time that she "loves me". And i asked her does she love and she said yes, but she aint in love with me. What does she mean by that ? She goes to me 2 weeks ago she cant be friends with me cos she likes me more than that. i go to her would you get back with me ? she replied she doesnt know what to do ? She doesnt know how she loves me??? Maybe its like a friend...........???? what do i do ? whats the difference for loving somone ? and in love please help ? i made this girl feel special did everything to make her happy. i wasnt even with her and i was still treating her nice and buy her expensive gifts ie flowers etc. She never gave me nothing back. I was there for her allways whenever she needed me ? what do i do ? please help???

Reply:Being "in love" is being in this relationship full hearted which means he is going to love you until there is nothing left. Saying I love you is so common, you say it to your mom and your family. Being in love is the next step but I can tell you are young and give her time. Ask her that's all you have to do. She will be honest with you. She could just be a brat and you should leave her alone.
Reply:I tell my husband this all the time. He hates it. The difference for me is being IN love with a person is a state of euphoric bliss. You are soooo happy and all you can do is think about that person.It's the best and worst feeling in the world. But to LOVE someone is a more lasting emotion. I will always LOVE him, but I'm not always IN LOVE with him. When he is doing wrong and messing up, I still LOVE him. I'm just not IN LOVE with him. Quite frankly, I rather have someone who LOVES me forever, then someone who was IN LOVE with me once a upon a time.

Reply:Yes there is a difference between loving someone and being IN LOVE with someone.. For instance you love your parents sisters brothers but that does not mean you are in love with thim... She does love you but maybe she needs some time to see if she is in love with you.





Just because you buy a girl flowers, expensive gifts or take them out does not mean they should fall in love with you.





Yes you where always there when she needed you but maybe that just made her like you more as a friend.. some times girls need tuff love.
Reply:I LOVE YOU... just words. LOVING is an emotional feeling. Sounds like a friendship love to me. She probably should have chose her words better. A lot of people can say I love you and have never actually been " in love". Think you need to spend sometime apart from her, let her see how she really feels and just be a friend. Don't stop looking though, if you find someone to spend time with, her "true feelings" may come out. GOOD LUCK but don't play the fool!
