Judging from that corny stuff, you're either in junior high or high school and have no clue how the real world works.

Not everyone deserves a second chance either. That's like telling a girl it's ok to get back together with a dude that beat her up. Yeah, real smart.
Reply:Phew that was a long one, but would say that 95 is really important, coz a relationship based on insecurity will fall at the first hurdle.

A gift for a mom and dad that just miscarried?

My cousin that lives 6 hrs. away had a miscarriage and just had the service today for her baby. She was 8 months along. What can I send to them as a gift besides flowers?

A gift for a mom and dad that just miscarried?
I am so sorry the loss of your cousin's baby. The best thing you can do is listen to whatever she needs to say, or even just sit with her in sympathy as she cries, or says nothing.

Please try not to talk about ''next time.'' Aside from the fact that there may not be a next time (some things are just not up to us), her grief is for this time, this child, who was already loved and welcome in their lives. If there is a subsequent child, that child will not be a substitute for the one she lost, and will not erase the grief of this initial loss. Time and subsequent children may make the loss easier to bear, but the loss will always be there, and that must be respected. It has been four years since I lost my daughter at 7 1/2 months which is a stillbirth, and I miss her right alongside the love I feel for the ones I am currently carrying. Some people really like angels to symbolize for their unborn babies. Or a pendant she could wear - symbolic of her being a mother. And then the other idea is a tree or something she could plant in the baby's memory.... Hope this works
Reply:You have to be careful with this because you don't want to send them something they will have around as a negative reminder. I like your idea with the necklace, really. Something small is probably best, but not directly related to a baby.
Reply:put pictures of the baby from ultra sounds, and pictures of her thgourut her preganncy in a scrap book. I would like it!!
Reply:No gift. Just your sympathies.
Reply:to be honest the best gift you can give is a kind word and a hug, sending gifts after something like that happens just keeps throwing it in there face. they need time to grieve in private
Reply:I think the necklace is a wonderful idea, but I would wait a bit of time or it might make her feel worse. Right now, she is thinking about how she will never be able to hold her baby and she/he will never have had a chance to even take it's first breath. The necklace may remind her of that right now and it may be too much.

I know from experience, that right now she is going to be too emotionally and physically tired from this loss to want to do anything else. Something she would appreciate would be something like a gift card to a grocery store or other place that she can buy already made meals. If you are going to visit her, bring her several days worth of food frozen. We did this for a friend of our who suffered a similar tragedy. I hope that helps. I really do think the necklace is a lovely idea, but I might wait a little while. Or you can get her angel for her Christmas tree that has the birthstone.
Reply:What a terrible loss and while there isn't much anyone can say or do right now to make them feel better I think your necklace idea is a good one. She will never forget her baby and recovering from this loss will be a long painful healing process. The necklace is a beautiful way to keep their baby's memory close to her heart. I think it is a very thoughtful gift.
Reply:The best thing you can do is to keep her from distracting herself from the mourning process. The more work she has to do, the more she will distract herself and the longer it will take her to heal. If you can bring them food and maybe run some errands for them, so that they don't have to do anything, that would be the most beneficial. This will be just as hard for her, in a different way, as if the baby had already been born. She's already developed that motherly love for the baby. Just give her support and love. Most gifts will probably be taken the wrong way. Give her a shoulder and an ear.

It would be a good idea to wait till she is out of the first stages of mourning before you give her gifts that remind her of the baby that she couldn't have. A birthstone will only make her think directly about the fact that she can't enjoy the baby's new arrival or his company or many of the great things babies bring to our lives.
Reply:send your love and tell her that you will always be there for her words often mean more than gifts so sorry
Reply:TRY PUTTING TOWARDS THE HEADSTONE OR REALEASING SOME BALLOONS
Reply:One of my family members just lost her baby too at 8 months. Her baby was due in October. A necklace with an October birthstone does sound nice. I would just go with that. That is such an awful thing to happen. I actually just found out about my husbands cousin today. No one had told me and I still am feeling so bad about it right now. Send that necklace, some nice flowers and a card.
Reply:That's a tuff one. Can you send them for a night away together so that they can get away from their surroundings and escape for a few hours?
Reply:I'M SORRY FOR THE LOST.....BUT I THINK THE NECKLACE WITH THE OCTOBER BIRTHSTONE IS PRECIOUS IDEA..AND IF THEY PICKED OUT A NAME FOR THE BABY PUT THAT ON THE NECKLACE TOO....GOD BLESS THEM...
Reply:Thats horrible. I would send them some kind of special keepsake, like a precious moments angel, or something like that. My cousin had a baby that only lived 22 hours, and my dad took a picture he had of him and put it in a frame with a really nice poem with it. They were very touched and loved it.

Valentine's Day Question?????

Dumped after two year's, the first year my bf stayed out of my way for the run up to Valentine's day totally ignored the fact it was VD, last year, i got a card only i went all out for him with a fab gift well a couple really he was working that evening so a meal out was totally not on. When i asked where is my gift flower's or a box of choc's i was told i never to anything for VD, i said surely we will go out at the end of the week when you are off i didn't want him ripped off with and overpriced meal that evening anyhow. I left got into my car when he called on the phone about something else i said it again i ended up hanging up on him as i was about to burst into tear's. As i hung up he stayed out of my way for 3 whole week's he never called to even thank me for my gift's when i contacted him he said you hung up on me remember. I'm alone this VD but i wonder to myself and i better off if this is the alternative treatment. Was it his lack of love or just meaness on his part???

Valentines Day Poll: Dine in or eat out?

I would like the ladies opinion on this one:

The money I have to spend on Valentines Day this year is limited due to school. Ive only got about $100-$125 for gifts, chocolates, flowers and dinner. I'm a very good cook for a guy. I cook for my girlfriend about once a month yet she has never had my "world famous" lasagna. From what people say my lasagna is "the best ever".

My question is:

Do I cook my best meal for my lady and use the money that I would have spent on dinner for a better gift?

Or do I take her out for a medium priced dinner and have less to spend on gifts?

Valentines Day Poll: Dine in or eat out?
dine in
Reply:Nah. Cook her a homemade dinner. Everybody takes their significant other out to eat, I know I chose to eat home, but my circumstances are different. I have very limited food choices to eat due to food allergies. Your lasagna sounds great. I'm sure she'll appreciate a home cooked meal. Then you will have money left over for other things.
Reply:Well if you ask me, i would definitely stay in and cook her a great meal!!! She will appreciate the effort because you cooked the meal just for her. You had her on you mind before you cooked the meal!!! I am sure she will enjoy it more than some fancy restaurant. You know the saying, nothing says I love you the best if it is from the heart!!! I hope that helped!!! Good luck!!!
Reply:I'm not a lady, but please let me save you from Valentines Day disaster. The two biggest mistakes you can make are

1. Going to a restaurant. V-day is the busiest night of the year. Staff is always harried, and service is always lousy and impersonal -- the opposite of romantic.

2. Cooking a "fancy" dinner at home. You spend all night in the kitchen slicing, dicing and stirring while your date watches TV in the living room.

Solution: cook a simple meal and serve it with lots of atmosphere -- candles, flowers and music -- all of which you're prepare beforehand. If she eats meat, grill a couple of steaks, bake a couple of potatoes and toss a salad. Serve it with a nice red wine. If she's a vegetarian -- well, you figure that one out -- but make it simple so you can spend time together.
Reply:A "HOME COOKED" meal is the best meal you can give to your lady. You will also be the MOST sexy to her preparing and serving the meal for her!
Reply:obvious answer: cook for her

its more personal

in itself it can be like a gift and you'll be sure that she'll enjoy it

and by doing it at home you can choose the settings instead of going with the cliche bullshit most medium priced restaurants will have

and youll get to be alone together

What do I do about my girlfriend's ex?

He buys her gifts and flowers, and the other day she showed me a text message that he ended with "wondering what ur wearing" She doesn't respond to any of this other than with a polite thank you for the gifts, but she doesn't discourage it either.

We've been dating for a year, and I find his behavior disrespectful to me, and I'm angry at my girlfriend for allowing him to disrespect me. She has told him before that she doesn't want to date him ever again, but I believe she doesn't do it emphatically enough and that she needs to reinforce it every once in a while, especially when he sends those text messages.

Am I wrong to be angry at this behavior? I don't care if they have a friendly relationship, it doesn't bother me at all, it's just the gifts and the text messages...

What do I do about my girlfriend's ex?
She should absolutely NOT be accepting gifts or flowers from him. It's okay to be friendly with an ex, but when that person can't respect the boundaries of the 'friendship', it's time to end it. When he gives them to her, she should decline, tell him it's inappropriate and point out that she is dating with someone and out of respect for his feelings, if he continues to give them to her and send those messages, that they can't have contact with each other anymore. You're not wrong to be angry.
Reply:tlk to him first lay down the law!!! if nuthin changes kick his azz Report It

Reply:Your's is a perfectly natural response as primitive as it may be. DO NOT DO ANYTHING. If you let this fester you will find yourself in a jealousy spell. It will get you nowhere. Just remember, she comes to your arms not his. Ignore it! Eventually he will tire and she will appreciate your trust in her. Your relationship will be stronger for it.
Reply:Your girlfriend isn't allowing anyone to "disrespect" you. She can't give someone permission to do this.

she has no control over the fact YOU FEEL disrespected. No one controls your feelings but YOU.

saying that, if she's thanking him for gifts and still talking with him (even just saying thanks) it's an encouragement for HIM and he probably thinks there is some hope left?

he's also needy and rather odd.

if you dno't like the situation, separate from or break up with your girlfriend.

apparently, she will continue this behavior as long as she feels like it.
Reply:Leave or youll be miserable forever my friend, tell her she is not ready to move on, I am sorry but your girlfriend indeed does not consider your feelings at all, she is selfish period, she wants it all and there you are giving it and moaning....... you have options, put up with it, give her conditions for your staying or leave
Reply:no man there is nothing wrong with your behavior. if my gf's ex did that....it wouldnt fly. stand up man, tell her she must confront that guy and stop it
Reply:You have the right to be upset about anything that bothers you especially when it involves your significant other. Help your girlfriend resolve the situation by supporting her. If you care enough about her that some day you may marry her, you should start putting her first and she you. She is number one family second, then friends. The exes dont even show up on the countdown, unless kids are involved.
Reply:Don't worry about his behavior. Your girlfriend is the one with a problem. She should be threatening him with a restraining order. The fact that she shows you text messages shows how insecure she is. Why else would she need to make you jealous? I never suggest this but...dump her! She is a train wreck waiting to happen.
Reply:Maybe she still wants him back.
Reply:your not wrong to be angry. if i were you id politly talk to him in perso not on msn or that cuz that could change the feeling and say "hey dude thx for the presents and stuff for my girlfriend but i dont feel comfy with the situation. so treat just as you treat any body else."

hope that helps.

oh yeah one more tip, id become more of a friend to him before saying this first cuz he might get sad or angry and if hes some buff kid he might kick your ***. :) so jus get to know him better if you dont for your own protection :) .
Reply:my girlfriend was close to a pretty close to a guy (not as close as your situation) at first i ignored it and it got worse so i talked to him.. i asked him politely if he could stop doing stuff with her (such as giving gifts) but they could obviously be good friends still.. and it worked out great

Gift help??

So, there is a student teacher at my school and she teaches for one of my favorite teachers and she's leaving the end of this month- to get a teaching degree. I talk to her every day after school and we've become close. I would like to get her something. What are some gift ideas?Flowers and a card?? I'm a Senior in high school by the way.

Gift help??
Since she is about to graduate and get her own classroom maybe a little basket or gift bag filled with office supplies would be nice. I know I would love it!

I think that a certificate for a massage seems to personal. Gift cards are also nice and so are flowers, but if you get like a ceramic pen holder for her desk she will be able to always keep it. I have one from a student from years ago and I always think of how kind it was. I even remember the students name.
Reply:A nice journal....meaningful but doesn't say anything (literally). Everyone can use a blank book to put their thoughts down.
Reply:Maybe you could find a nice small statue of a teacher in a card or gift shop (or maybe even online somewhere) (i.e. I got a gift for a crossing guard once - it was a cute statue of an animal (a bear maybe) holding a stop sign)

I'd say go with something like that that represents teaching in some way.
Reply:Find out what stores she likes and get her a gift card, you can never go wrong with gift cards. I think she will appreciate anything you do for her.
Reply:I think that you should buy here something that she will remember you by so what ever you think is nice and affordable to you I guess it will be suitable for her..
Reply:Teachers always appreciate gift certificates for bookstores or office supply stores.
Reply:a prayer to be successful in everything she do
Reply:bath and body works! never fails if she is a girly girl. lol
Reply:I don't know how much you had in mind to spend but a nice daily planner. or a brief case, or maybe a book by her favorite writer. a travel alarm is also a nice gift.
Reply:A massage gift certificate or a gift certificate for a pedicure and manicure.
Reply:ask her what she likes
